Safety Comparison

The Armada has standard Active Head Restraints, which use a specially designed headrest to protect the driver and front passenger from whiplash. During a rear-end collision, the Active Head Restraints system moves the headrests forward to prevent neck and spine injuries. The Tahoe doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

Both the Armada and the Tahoe have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height-adjustable front shoulder belts, plastic fuel tanks, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding and available all wheel drive.

Suspension and Handling Comparison

For superior ride and handling, the Nissan Armada has fully independent front and rear suspensions. The Chevrolet Tahoe has a solid rear axle, with a non-independent rear suspension.

The Armada has standard front and rear stabilizer bars, which help keep the Armada flat and controlled during cornering. The Tahoe’s suspension doesn’t offer a rear stabilizer bar.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Armada’s wheelbase is 7.2 inches longer than on the Tahoe (123.2 inches vs. 116 inches).

The Armada has .6 inches more front hip room, .2 inches more front shoulder room, 1.3 inches more rear headroom, 2.9 inches more rear legroom, .5 inches more rear hip room, 7.4 inches more third row legroom and 1.1 inches more third row shoulder room than the Tahoe.
